Hi! Last week I posted about what Stuff Your Kindle Day is and this post is about what to do on Stuff Your Kindle Day (SYKD). If you haven’t read the other post, I recommend as it may help give context to everything this post is about. Let’s get into it…
NOTE: The retailer I use is Amazon Kindle so this blog will specifically be talking about the Amazon kindle SYKD. But the first few steps of using the romance bookworms website can be applied to all retailers.
Romance Bookworms https://www.romancebookworms.com/ will post on their website when their new stuff your kindle day – for the last couple of SYKDs I have found out through Instagram – but I recommend subscribing to their email list as they will update you personally about when the next SYKD is (I have recently done this myself!). If you prefer not to give your email out, I suggest you look out on #BookTok and #Booksagram to see any updates for the next one.

If you want to subscribe
By clicking following the link above ⬆️ it will send you to the home page (shown below⬇️) and then just click ‘learn more’. Afterwards it will take you to the blog which can talk about when the next SYKD is and suggests signing up for the ‘free book alert’.

Follow the link below to go directly to the ‘sign up’ page. https://www.romancebookworms.com/email-list
Type in email and then it will send an email to you when you click ‘subscribe’

A few days before SYKD, Romance Bookworms will release a book list with all the different books that will be free on the days specified (the day will be put at the top of the list). My suggestion is that it is good to potentially look at the list beforehand, to gather the knowledge of what books you may want to buy on the day.

NOTE: Screenshot above ⬆️ is an example, as the date as already passed
1. At the top of the Romance Bookworms' website there is a banner. You need to either hover or click ‘free books’ to be given the list of retail options that are available for the free books

2. Once you have chosen your desired retailer the website will give you a little more information about what is going on with the free downloads. Shortened version is always check the price for the eBook so that it definitely says £0.00, otherwise you will actually be paying for it – some authors may not have set their books to free for that day so be careful.
3. Below the information it gives a list of hyperlinked genres that allows you to jump the page to the certain genre of book that interests you. This is better than scrolling through the entire website, as thst could literally take forever. (However don't shy from looking through a lot of the genres, as it may give more novels that you may become interested in)
Genres are below:

NOTE: If you have a type of trope or keyword for a genre you like you can search it through the website to be quicker.
On a laptop

Click Ctrl + F on the keyboard and a search bar will show at the top of the screen where you can type a word that relates to a book and the computer will show whether there is something related to this theme to be looked at.
On a phone

--> This is if you are using chrome on your phone
Click the 3 dots in the corner and then click ‘find in page’. The search bar will appear at the top of the page for your searching needs.

4. If you continue to scroll, you will see the list of books that are available for download.
The example below was also shown in the previous blog post about SYKD:

5. Once you find a book of your liking click the link of the Amazon that you are using

6. When you click the link, I recommend reading the blurb again because it will be different to the synopsis that has been put on the Romance Bookworms’ websites. Then just ensure that the price is actually set to £0.00 and then click ‘buy now’ and you have officially brought your first book from SYKD.

NOTE: The example used above 'Shy Girls Can't Date Bad Boys' may not be free anymore, so don't use this as a real option until SYKD if it is still appicable
Remember there is no limit to the amount of books that you can buy and you won't lose them as they are not rented like with prime reading or kindle unlimited. 😃
Happy free book buying!! 💰
Until the next chapter,
