What is Stuff Your Kindle Day? 📚

Stuff Your Kindle Day has once again come and gone on nearly a week ago on Thursday 20th June. It was just in time for my birthday! Happy early birthday to me!! 😊

What is it?

Zoe York, the creator of Stuff Your Kindle, works with hundreds of authors to upload thousands of free (£0.00) eBooks on amazon and other famous book retailers such as Barnes and Noble nook, google play and a few more. All the information about Stuff Your Kindle Day (SYKD) is updated on the website Romance Bookworms https://www.romancebookworms.com/. This opportunity for free books has a range of romance categories with Young Adult, Fantasy Romance, New Adult & Rom Com and so much more to explore!! The categories even go into the authors and especially showcases the minority groups to continue the love of books and show the diversity for all!

SYKD day offers short stories and full novels from so many favourite authors and new ones that you may have never read before. It allows you to enjoy different types of writing and all this can be done, for free, for one day.

Structure

Each book that is listed on Romance Bookworm are structured with the Title first and then the author of the book next to it. Below the title there is synopsis that explains the novel in an interesting way to catch the readers attention. Afterwards there is the ‘keyword’ section that gives ideas about tropes and characters that may appear in the novel when read. Then it recommends to buy the book (for free) and gives links to the most common Amazon sights for all your buying pleasure.

An example of what this looks like:

My experience

This is my 4th SYKD, shows the book obsession I know🤭, and once again it didn’t disappoint. The first time I completed all the free downloads I scoured through each section to see what kind of story I liked originally based off the title, then the little synopsis and then the keywords below. If it passed those tests, I would then click the ‘Amazon UK’ link below the book and decide if I excepted the front cover design, the actual blurb and check whether or not it was in a series or it was a short story. I now search for the keywords of books I like the best like ‘hockey’ and ‘college’ and then search through the synopses to see if there is one that suits the vibe I want. This year I downloaded 20 books from amazon for free of all different types of romances and of course instantly started reading.

Future SYKD

If you were not able to get books on this day, there is plenty more SYKD that may be announced in the future. Other people have created different versions and Romance Bookworms may update so look out for future updates and search Instagram for the news that there is more free books being launched.

On the 20th to 27th July there are going to be some more SYKD created by other people similar to this one created by Zoe York.

--> These websites may ask for emails to have lists of the books that they offering when the SYKD goes live

I really recommend getting in on this freebie opportunity because you may learn to love a new author or subgenre of romance that you would have never tried before if you hadn't have engaged with Stuff Your Kindle Day. Also don’t worry about loosing the books you have “purchased” because they will stay with you until you delete them. It is as if you actually bought them but are just being sent through as £0.00 when the authors update the

books. Hopefully in the near future I will post a simple guide of 'how to guide' of Romance Bookworms and SYKD. Good luck and happy hunting!!

Until the next chapter,
